Veterinary Assistant

Shoreline Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team and help create **exceptional experiences for clients and patients **during exams and outpatient visits.

We are seeking an outgoing veterinary assistant who thrives in client engagement, schedule coordination, and multitasking. In this position, you will play a critical role in supporting efficient hospital operations, creating positive client experiences, and ensuring patients receive compassionate, high-quality care. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and the ability to anticipate the needs of both the veterinary team and clients throughout the patient visit.

Responsibilities

include:**

• Supporting efficient exam room and outpatient workflow to ensure exceptional patient and client care
• Maintaining accurate, thorough medical records and treatment documentation
• Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately

Schedule and compensation:

• Compensation: $21-23 per hour, for each hour worked
• This is a ** full-time ** position, with a **flexible **schedule and availability needed ** Monday-Saturday, with Saturdays being rotated. **

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

• **1+ **years of experience in a **veterinary assistant, animal care, kennel assistant, or related role **preferred

• Proficiency in the following skills:

• Safe animal handling and restraint skills for dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments

• Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology and patient care principles

• Ability to assist with exams, treatments, and outpatient procedures

• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic

• Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and restrain patients safely throughout the workday

• Commitment to exceptional patient care and client service

We are a dynamic, three-doctor, small animal hospital that does routine soft-tissue surgery, dentals, and preventative care, while also seeing urgent cases as needed. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
