THE POSITION As an Electrician with ISC, you'll perform electrical construction activities supporting industrial facilities and projects. Conduit Installation Fabricate and install rigid, aluminum, EMT, PVC, and Plasti-Bond conduit Operate mechanical, electric, and hydraulic conduit benders Perform conduit layout, routing, and installation Fabricate and install conduit supports Perform quality electrical raceway installations Cable Tray, Wire & Cable Installation Install cable tray systems and supports Install wire and cable in conduit and cable tray Perform manual and mechanical wire pulls Identify and properly handle electrical conductors and cables Support installation of industrial electrical distribution systems Electrical Equipment & Power Distribution Install MCCs and switchgear Install transformers, breakers, fuses, buss duct, batteries, and battery chargers Support installation of power-distribution equipment Install and connect motors and other electrical equipment Perform electrical equipment installation according to drawings and specifications Terminations & Motor Controls Perform electrical terminations Terminate motors and transformers Perform cable splicing Perform stress-cone terminations when required Install and troubleshoot motor controls Size thermal overloads, breakers, and fuses Support installation and troubleshooting of electrical control systems Electrical Testing & Troubleshooting Troubleshoot electrical and motor-control systems Use VOMs, multimeters, amp meters, insulation testers, and other electrical diagnostic equipment Identify electrical installation issues and assist with corrective action Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and schematics Perform work in accordance with applicable NEC requirements and project specifications EXPERIENCE & SKILLS Candidates with experience in any of the following are encouraged to apply: Industrial Electrician Journeyman Electrician Journeyperson Electrician Construction Electrician Electrical Craftsman Journeyman Wireman Industrial Electrical Construction Electrical & Instrumentation Construction Manufacturing Facilities Process & Industrial Facilities Conduit Installation Rigid Conduit EMT Conduit Conduit Bending Cable Tray Wire Pulling Electrical Terminations MCC Installation Switchgear Motor Controls Transformers Power Distribution Electrical Troubleshooting Electrical Testing Blueprints & Schematics NEC Compliance REQUIREMENTS Depending on classification and project requirements, qualified candidates should have: Previous electrical construction experience appropriate for the position Strong knowledge of electrical construction methods, tools, and equipment Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and schematics Knowledge of applicable electrical codes and safety requirements Ability to safely use electrical testing equipment, hand tools, and power tools Ability to follow project specifications and direction from field supervision Commitment to safety, quality, attendance, and workmanship Ability to perform the physical requirements associated with electrical construction Ability to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug/alcohol screening Ability to pass applicable background checks Ability to obtain certifications or credentials required by the specific project or site Journeyman-Level Candidates Journeyman-level positions may require one or more of the following depending on the project: Qualifying NCCER Electrical Craft Assessment score Valid electrical license Required level of documented electrical construction experience Project-specific certifications or credentials GROW YOUR CAREER WITH ISC ISC provides opportunities for electrical craft professionals to continue developing their skills and advance into technical and leadership positions.
