Application Architect

Our client is seeking an experienced Platform Architect to lead the design, standardization, and operationalization of enterprise architecture patterns across a modern cloud environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges, defining architectural standards, and partnering with engineering teams to drive adoption of scalable solutions.

Design, engineer, and standardize enterprise architecture patterns that development teams can easily adopt and implement. Define scalable frameworks, reusable services, and best practices for enterprise systems. Partner with architects, technical leads, developers, and operations teams to ensure consistent adoption of architecture standards.

Develop and document Architectural Decision Records (ADRs) and governance policies for enterprise platforms. Establish event-driven architecture patterns utilizing technologies such as Kafka and modern messaging frameworks. Design and support microservices-based architectures deployed in Kubernetes and containerized environments.

Contribute to API-first design initiatives and modern authorization frameworks across enterprise platforms. Collaborate with architecture review boards to define, review, and gain approval for architectural patterns and standards. Support cloud-based solutions across AWS and/or GCP environments. Lead initiatives involving data migration, data quality assurance, and platform modernization efforts.

Build frameworks and architectural solutions that are highly operational, scalable, secure, and maintainable. Work closely with engineering squads, deployment teams, and architecture stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of enterprise standards. Provide technical guidance on authorization models, identity management, JWTs, policy scopes, and fine-grained access controls.

Utilize Java, Spring Boot, and related service frameworks to prototype, validate, and support architectural solutions.

Experience designing and implementing platform architecture solutions in enterprise environments. Strong hands-on development experience with Java and Spring Boot. Experience building microservices and event-driven architectures using Kafka or similar technologies. Knowledge of Kubernetes, containers, and cloud-native application design.

Experience working in AWS and/or GCP environments. Experience supporting data migration and data quality initiatives. Understanding of identity and access management, including Auth0, JWTs, and authorization frameworks. Experience creating architecture standards, design patterns, and technical documentation. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, curious mindset.

Ability to collaborate and influence across technical teams. Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
