Job description

GENERAL MANAGER

O'Steen Acura & O'Steen Volvo Cars of Athens

Athens, Georgia

Lead. Build. Sell. Win.

O'Steen Automotive Group is looking for a high-energy, proven automotive General Manager to lead the O'Steen Acura and O'Steen Volvo Cars of Athens dealerships.

This is not an opportunity for a manager who wants to sit behind a desk and watch reports.

We are looking for a leader who gets involved.

We want a GM who knows how to desk a deal, coach a salesperson, structure a trade, manage gross, develop managers, read a financial statement, and lead from the front.

The right person will have the energy, experience, and personality to take a growing organization to the next level while building a culture where great people want to work and customers want to do business.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As General Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the performance, culture, and profitability of both dealerships.

You will lead a team across Sales, F&I, Service, Parts, and administrative operations while working closely with ownership and senior leadership to execute the group's goals.

But this position requires more than overseeing departments.

We need a GM who can still sell.

You should be comfortable sitting down with a customer and a salesperson, working a pencil, desking a deal, structuring a trade, negotiating numbers, and helping close the business.

You should know what it takes to turn an opportunity into a sold unit-and then teach your team how to do it.

You should be the person your sales managers call when they need help-not someone they avoid because you're disconnected from the floor.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Lead the overall operations and performance of both O'Steen Acura and O'Steen Volvo Cars of Athens.

  • Set the pace, energy, and culture for the entire organization.

  • Be highly visible and active on the showroom floor.

  • Desk deals and personally assist managers and salespeople with difficult negotiations.

  • Coach sales managers and salespeople on deal structure, gross profit, closing techniques, and customer experience.

  • Review every aspect of dealership performance and hold leaders accountable for results.

  • Develop and execute plans to increase new and pre-owned vehicle sales.

  • Drive gross profit while maintaining a strong customer experience.

  • Manage inventory, pricing, aging, turn, and used-vehicle profitability.

  • Work closely with F&I to improve PVR, product penetration, lender relationships, and overall profitability.

  • Partner with Fixed Operations leadership to maximize Service and Parts performance.

  • Monitor CSI, customer retention, online reputation, and manufacturer objectives.

  • Analyze dealership financial statements and understand how daily decisions impact profitability.

  • Recruit, retain, train, coach, and develop high-performing managers and employees.

  • Create clear expectations and hold the team accountable for achieving them.

  • Establish a culture of urgency, professionalism, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

  • Ensure the dealerships consistently deliver an exceptional premium-brand customer experience.

  • Maintain strong relationships with Acura, Volvo, customers, employees, and the local community.

  • Work closely with ownership and O'Steen Automotive Group leadership to establish and execute strategic goals.

THE LEADER WE WANT

We are looking for someone who brings energy into the building every day.

Someone who walks the showroom floor, knows what is happening with every deal, knows who is selling and who needs coaching, and isn't afraid to get involved.

YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO ANSWER "YES" TO THESE QUESTIONS

Can you desk a deal?

Can you teach a sales manager how to desk a deal better?

Can you sit down with a customer and save a deal?

Can you look at a deal and immediately identify where the opportunity is?

Can you coach a salesperson who is struggling?

Can you hold a manager accountable without destroying morale?

Can you read a financial statement and understand where the money is being made-or lost?

Can you walk into a dealership every morning and raise the energy level of the entire building?

If the answer is yes, we want to meet you.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Required/Preferred Experience

  • Significant automotive dealership management experience.

  • Previous experience as a General Manager, General Sales Manager, Sales Manager, or similar senior dealership leadership position.

  • Demonstrated success in sales volume, gross profit, CSI, and overall dealership profitability.

  • Strong experience desking and structuring automotive deals.

  • Proven ability to recruit, train, motivate, and retain sales professionals and managers.

  • Strong understanding of new and used vehicle operations.

  • Working knowledge of F&I, Service, Parts, inventory management, and dealership accounting.

  • Strong understanding of dealership KPIs and financial statements.

  • Premium/luxury or import-brand experience is strongly preferred.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
