Job description

The Director of Integrated Marketing & Engagement provides strategic leadership for integrated marketing initiatives that advance Barry University's enrollment, reputation, engagement, and institutional priorities. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the Director partners with the Director of Digital Marketing & Strategy to jointly develop institutional marketing strategies and serves as the senior marketing advisor to assigned colleges, schools, and administrative divisions.

The position leads integrated marketing planning, client partnerships, and a team of Integrated Marketing Managers while ensuring cross-functional alignment across the Marketing organization. The Director leverages the University's enterprise digital ecosystem, platforms, and technical capabilities provided through the IT Digital Experience organization to deliver measurable institutional outcomes.

  1. Strategic Marketing Leadership Partner with the Chief Marketing Officer and the Director of Digital Marketing & Strategy to develop integrated marketing strategies aligned with institutional priorities, enrollment objectives, brand positioning, and audience needs. Collaborate with the IT Digital Experience organization to ensure institutional strategies are supported through enterprise digital platforms, governance, analytics, CRM, AI capabilities, and marketing technologies.
  2. Client Leadership & Strategic Partnership Serve as the senior marketing advisor to assigned colleges, schools, and administrative divisions. Lead discovery sessions, identify opportunities, build trusted relationships, and translate institutional priorities into integrated marketing strategies.
  3. Audience Strategy & Messaging Develop audience segmentation, positioning, value propositions, leadership claims, messaging architecture, communication planning, and campaign brief development to support the student lifecycle and strengthen the Barry University brand. Brand Stewardship & Institutional Identity Champion and safeguard Barry University's brand strategy, positioning, visual identity, messaging standards, and institutional voice across all marketing initiatives. Promote consistent application of brand standards, strengthen brand equity, and collaborate with University stakeholders to ensure communications accurately reflect Barry University's mission, values, and strategic priorities. Performance Assessment & Continuous Improvement Review campaign performance with the Director of Digital Marketing & Strategy, leveraging dashboards, analytics, insights, and enterprise technologies provided through the IT Digital Experience organization to identify opportunities, optimize performance, and continuously improve institutional marketing effectiveness. Other Duties, Emerging Priorities & Organizational Agility Performs other duties and assumes new responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Marketing Officer in response to evolving institutional priorities, audience expectations, competitive conditions, technologies, platforms, regulations, and marketing practices. Evaluates and helps operationalize emerging opportunities, including new communication channels, AI-enabled capabilities, partnership models, and approaches to audience engagement. Leads or supports special initiatives, pilot programs, and cross-functional projects that may not fall within established workflows but are necessary to advance Barry University’s enrollment, reputation, engagement, brand, and strategic objectives. The Director of Integrated Marketing shares responsibility for institutional marketing strategy with the Director of Digital Marketing & Strategy under the leadership of the Chief Marketing Officer. The position is responsible for institutional marketing strategy, client partnership, integrated planning, messaging, campaign leadership, and portfolio prioritization. Enterprise digital infrastructure—including the CMS, CRM ecosystem, marketing automation, analytics platforms, AI capabilities, and related technologies—is governed and supported by the IT Digital Experience organization. Success in this role depends on close collaboration with IT Digital Experience to ensure marketing strategies are effectively enabled through secure, scalable, enterprise technologies while maintaining University governance standards.
