Concrete Finisher

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Place, spread, consolidate, screed, level, and finish freshly poured concrete. Finish slabs, sidewalks, curbs, foundations, walls, ramps, and other concrete surfaces. Use hand tools and power equipment including floats, trowels, edgers, groovers, screeds, and power trowels. Create smooth, broom, hard-trowel, or other specified finishes.

Check concrete surfaces for proper elevation, slope, flatness, and finish. Form and finish concrete edges and joints. Perform concrete patching and repair work. Install curing compounds and other concrete protection materials. Assist with concrete placement, vibration, and screeding. Monitor concrete conditions and determine proper timing for finishing operations.

Maintain and clean concrete finishing tools and equipment. Coordinate with foremen and other crew members during concrete pours. Follow project plans, specifications, and quality requirements. Follow company safety policies and use required PPE.

Qualifications

2+ years of commercial concrete finishing experience preferred. Knowledge of concrete placement and finishing techniques. Experience using hand finishing tools, power trowels, and screeding equipment. Understanding of elevations, slopes, joints, and concrete tolerances preferred. Ability to recognize concrete conditions and determine appropriate finishing timing.

Strong attention to detail and quality. Ability to work effectively as part of a concrete crew. Dependable attendance and willingness to work extended hours during concrete pours when necessary. Physical Requirements Ability to regularly lift and carry 50–75 pounds. Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, stand, reach, push, and pull for extended periods.

Ability to perform repetitive movements associated with concrete finishing. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
