About the Role

The Dietary Aid at Bellevue Senior Living a crucial role in supporting the nutritional and dietary needs of residents within a public administration healthcare setting. This position ensures that meals are prepared, delivered, and served in accordance with established dietary guidelines. Attention to detail and adherence to food safety standards are essential to promote the health and well-being of all residents.

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to follow detailed instructions and dietary guidelines accurately. Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with residents and team members.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in a dietary or food service role, preferably in a healthcare or public administration setting. Familiarity with special diets such as diabetic, low sodium, or texture-modified diets. Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays. Demonstrated empathy and patience when working with elderly or medically fragile populations.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to prescribed dietary requirements and menus. Deliver meals to residents in a courteous and timely manner, ensuring accuracy of orders and special dietary needs. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, dining areas, and equipment following health and safety regulations.

Monitor food inventory and report shortages or issues to the dietary supervisor. Support the dietary team by assisting with food storage, dishwashing, and other related tasks as needed. Skills: The Dietary Aid utilizes strong organizational skills daily to manage meal preparation and delivery efficiently while adhering to dietary restrictions.

Communication skills are essential for accurately understanding and conveying resident needs and collaborating with healthcare and dietary teams. Attention to detail ensures that all food safety protocols and individual dietary plans are strictly followed to maintain resident health. Physical stamina and time management skills enable the Dietary Aid to perform multiple tasks such as lifting, standing, and cleaning throughout the shift.
