Sous Chef – Luxury Hotel | Cape Town, Western Cape Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join a luxury hotel in Cape Town, Western Cape. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated culinary professional to contribute to a high standard of food preparation and service within a luxury hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef with the daily running of the kitchen and overall culinary operations. Oversee food preparation, cooking and presentation to ensure consistently high standards. Maintain exceptional food quality, hygiene and kitchen safety standards. Support menu planning, recipe development and the introduction of new dishes.

Supervise, train and motivate kitchen staff to ensure an efficient and productive team. Monitor stock levels, manage food costs and minimise wastage. Ensure the kitchen operates smoothly during busy service periods.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Sous Chef or in a senior kitchen position within a luxury hotel, lodge or high-end restaurant. Strong culinary skills and a passion for quality food and presentation. Excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills. The ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

A sound understanding of food safety, hygiene and cost control. A professional attitude, strong work ethic and attention to detail. Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience.
