Houseman/Maintenance Worker

Holiday Inn Express Tallahassee I-10 E is looking to hire a houseman/maintenance worker to join our housekeeping team. You will do housekeeping support, Public area cleaning, event setup, Guest delivery & minor maintenance. To do well in this role, you should have previous experience in a hotel, be highly skilled with various hand and power tools, and be able to work with the housekeeping team.

Houseman Worker Responsibilities: Housekeeping Support: Stripping dirty linens, hauling heavy trash, and restocking carts with fresh towels, sheets, and toiletries for room attendants. Public Area Cleaning: Vacuuming, mopping, and dusting high-traffic zones like lobbies, hallways, elevators, and public restrooms. Event and Room Setup: Setting up, rearranging, and breaking down tables, chairs, and equipment for conference rooms and banquet spaces.

Guest Deliveries: Bringing extra pillows, blankets, rollaway beds, or room amenities directly to guest rooms upon request. Minor Maintenance: Fixing basic issues like changing light bulbs, clearing debris, or reporting larger repairs to the maintenance department Houseman Worker Requirements: Proven maintenance experience.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Skilled in the use of hand and power tools. Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts. Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches. Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.

Strong organizational and follow-up skills. Eye for detail. Professional presentation and attitude. Ability to maintain focus while working individually. Strong time management skills.
