SUMMARY OF DUTIES Under the supervision of the Island Director/Clinical Supervisor, the Crisis Specialist II is primarily responsible for providing support, outreach and information and referral services to participants. Performs required administrative tasks related to caseload, such as daily and monthly activity reports, mileage and other miscellaneous reports in a timely manner.
Provides crisis stabilization and outreach, and information and referral services to victims of sexual assault (face to face or by phone) Crisis supports short-term in duration and responsive to the immediate needs of the victim, including safety. Maintains notes and completes program required forms in a timely manner.
Prepares all related documentation, such as correspondence, reports, and data collecting in a timely, concise, and efficient manner. Acts as a role model for participants and fellow staff members. Participates in all level meetings, agencies, staff, and selective staff meetings, and other meetings as determined by the Island Director/Clinical Supervisor.
Maintains confidentiality at all levels. Performed related duties as assigned. This role is for 18 hours per week.
EDUCATION
AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS High School plus additional training equals to 2 years of college, which requires knowledge of a specialized field or may lead to licensing (data processing, accounting, human services), or formalized apprenticeship program. EXPERIENCE Over six months, up to and including one year SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED Knowledge of child growth, development and behavior; positive parenting practices; case management and advocacy practices and techniques preferred.
Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work with families of diverse ethnic, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds and gender/sexual orientation. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required. Valid driver’s license, current no-fault insurance coverage, satisfactory driver’s abstract, access to an insured vehicle.
