Duties and Responsibilities

Participating in renewable energy solar development transactions and other renewable energy work, including participating in weekly client calls, drafting transaction documents, reviewing due diligence, and other legal analysis related to renewable energy development and financial incentives. Eligibility: Students from marginalized backgrounds or communities that are under-represented in the legal profession are strongly encouraged to apply.

Students from marginalized communities, students under-represented in the legal community, prior professional experience, transcript, cover letter, and interest in renewable energy and transactional law will be included in consideration and evaluation of candidates. Eligible applicants include 1L, 2L and 3L students attending Mitchell Hamline.

Applicants should have (1) completed Property Law, and (2) either completed, or have concurrent enrollment in, (i) Business Organizations, (ii) Secured Transactions, or equivalent experience. Location: The Energy Fellow will be required to commit 90 hours per semester, with a minimum of 5 hours in person / in office each week.

Semester: Spring 2027 Hours: The Energy Fellowship will run for 12 weeks. The Energy Fellow will be required to commit 90 hours per semester with a minimum of 5 hours in person / in office each week.

Compensation

$40/hr Academic Credit: Students may earn 2 academic credits through Mitchell Hamline for this position.
