Job description
JOB DESCRIPTION FOR MAINTENANCE AND GROUNDS JOB SUMMARY The Maintenance and Grounds staff maintains facility grounds, systems, and equipment by completing preventative maintenance schedules, restoring, repairing, or replacing faulty or inoperative components or parts. Efficiently organizes and maintains maintenance operational activities to ensure safe and efficient operations of the facility.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Must be able to read, write, and understand verbal and written communication High School Diploma or GED preferred Prefer prior maintenance experience ORGANIZATIONAL EXPECTATIONS Provides a positive and professional representation of the organization. Promotes a culture of safety through reporting, documentation, prevention, and infection control.
Maintains competency and knowledge of current standards of practice, trends, and developments in related scope of job role or practice. Participates in ongoing quality improvement activities. Maintains compliance with organizational and regulatory policies and practices. Demonstrates excellent customer service through attitude and actions, consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission, and Values of the organization.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, perform overhead lifting and perform other common physical movements as needed for the position. Ability to lift and carry in excess of 50 pounds.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
/ ASSIGNED TASKS Follow standards and procedures for safe chemical preparation, use, and storage Ensure proper care of equipment, and that all tools and equipment are correctly and safely used Complete all scheduled tasks in a timely manner Ensure appropriate use of personal protective equipment Demonstrate actions that provide a positive experience for the resident as well as promoting positive teamwork with co-workers Monitor maintenance communications and logs to ensure timely completion of documented needs Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance services inspections to ensure the facility and grounds are maintained and safe according to facility policy and regulatory guidance Maintain required records, logs and reports as outlined in policies and procedures Participate in facility disaster planning efforts including, ensuring staff participation in fire drills as required by state statute, maintaining emergency supplies, and performing staff training as needed Refer decisions that require policy change or approval of outside contracts or services to the Nursing Home Administrator Monitor inventory of materials and equipment and oversee the organized purchasing of necessary equipment and supplies Provide for accessibility of materials and equipment through organized storage Participate in coordination of projects ensuring adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations Perform other job duties and tasks as assigned
