(“AEGIS”) has an immediate opening for a Senior Property Loss Control Professional to develop and implement the company’s property loss control programs in order to support the Underwriting division and propose methods to mitigate the frequency and severity of incurred losses to the insureds and AEGIS.

Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (area of study in fire protection, electrical or mechanical desired), science or loss control discipline In-depth knowledge of property loss control principles, policies and practices evidenced by a minimum 8 years of progressive experience in risk management or loss control discipline associated with the power and/or utility industry Experience working independently with limited guidance and/or leading people/initiatives through influence rather than as a direct report are a plus A professional certification in fire protection engineering or related power industry field is desired; Professional Engineer (PE) or Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) a plus In-depth knowledge of property all risk perils, i.

e., fire, explosion, natural hazards, etc. and loss control principles, policies, and practices Working knowledge of the National Fire Protection Association codes and standards and related industry best practices pertaining to the energy industry Working knowledge of model building and fire codes and various occupancies which can be found in the energy industry Travel required (approximately 50% to 60%) Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Candidate Attributes: Collaborative Communications and Behavior: Develops and maintains effective working relationships as a team member and across divisions; readily collaborates and shares information, seeks and provides constructive feedback, and supports a respectful workplace Initiative and Accountability: Proactively addresses opportunities to enhance AEGIS’ people, processes, products, and services, takes ownership for one’s responsibilities by acting with integrity and in the best interest of the organization and stakeholders Quality-Focused: Demonstrates a solution-focus, displays thoroughness and accuracy through quality deliverables, and demonstrates persistence and perseverance in achieving concrete and tangible outcomes Service-Oriented: Conveys a genuine desire and ability to anticipate and meet customer needs and creates and nurtures mutually beneficial relationships within AEGIS and with AEGIS Members and brokers Essential Job Functions: Consultation Perform, coordinate, and implement loss control services, including on-site assessments, for insureds; this includes the quality and timely issuance of risk assessments reports Evaluate the generating facility’s operations and make risk reduction suggestions on loss control programs to assist insureds to mitigate the frequency and severity of incurred losses Influence insureds to adopt and integrate loss control and/or risk management principles in day-to-day operating practices Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement Participate in the development of the AEGIS loss control products and services that can benefit the insureds loss control efforts Participate in industry associations to stay abreast of technical changes and developments Establish credibility as a Property Loss Control Professional, who has a thorough knowledge of power industry and operations Become proficient in technical areas where current expertise is limited Relationship Management and Customer Support Assist the Underwriting division in marketing AEGIS’ property insurance product and support account meetings as requested Research and Analysis Assist/participate in claims investigations, as requested Identification and documentation of near misses for lessons learned and to capture potential avoided losses Support for natural catastrophe modeling and data collection as needed www.

An applicant’s placement within this range is based on their individual qualifications and professional experience.
