Maintenance Technician

Reports To: Production Supervisor and Production Manager, Mucci Pac Ltd. and Mucci Pac USA Ltd. Location: Kingsville, Ontario and Taylor, Michigan Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent Schedule: Six (6) days per week, day shift, with extended hours as required based on operational needs. Occasional Sunday work may be required unless otherwise specified in the employee's offer of employment.

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, repairing machinery, and ensuring production equipment operates efficiently and safely. This role supports production objectives by minimizing downtime, maintaining equipment reliability, and assisting with general facility maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance on sealing equipment and other production machinery. Set up, operate, and adjust machinery controls to ensure equipment functions according to operational specifications. Conduct routine lubrication, oiling, cleaning, and servicing of machines and equipment. Monitor equipment performance and identify mechanical issues, malfunctions, or potential failures.

Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical problems to minimize production downtime. Install, replace, and adjust machine components and attachments to meet production requirements. Transport machine parts, tools, and equipment between work areas and storage locations using appropriate material-handling equipment such as cranes, hoists, or dollies.

Maintain inventory levels of maintenance supplies, spare parts, and equipment; submit replenishment requests as required. Complete and maintain accurate maintenance logs, repair records, and production-related documentation. Review work orders and equipment specifications to determine maintenance and repair requirements.

Communicate machine breakdowns, equipment concerns, material shortages, and maintenance requirements to supervisors and management in a timely manner. Perform general facility maintenance, minor building repairs, and housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and professional work environment. Comply with all company health and safety policies, procedures, and food safety requirements.

Support continuous improvement initiatives and perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong mechanical aptitude with proven troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Experience performing preventative maintenance and equipment repairs in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities. Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with production and management teams. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate maintenance records. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and respond promptly to equipment issues.

Basic computer skills for documentation and maintenance tracking purposes. Flexibility to work varying shifts and overtime as required. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, stretch, twist, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods. Ability to regularly lift up to 30 lbs (14 kg) and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg).

Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and work safely around industrial equipment. Ability to perform physical work in a temperature-controlled environment maintained at approximately 55°F (13°C). Capable of working safely in a production and warehouse environment while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
