Job description
Bethlehem Area School District is seeking dependable and safety-focused Bus Monitors to assist with the safe transportation of students to and from school. There are 8 vacancies available. This part-time position is approximately 29 hours per week and includes paid required training prior to beginning the assignment. Bus Monitors work alongside bus drivers to help maintain a safe, respectful, and orderly environment for all students during transportation.
Key Responsibilities
Assists the bus driver in safely transporting students to and from school Monitors student conduct on the bus or van to maintain a safe and appropriate environment Based on a student's individual needs, may assist students with boarding and exiting the bus and securing safety equipment Communicates with the bus driver and appropriate staff regarding student needs or concerns Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required Ability to work effectively with students and maintain a safe and positive transportation environment Dependable, patient, and able to follow safety procedures Ability to complete required paid training prior to beginning employment Pre-Employment Requirements: The following pre-employment requirements must be successfully completed before employment may begin: Must undergo and receive a satisfactory result on a pre-employment drug screening Must successfully complete and submit all required background clearances in accordance with Pennsylvania School Code employment requirements.
