Village Support Officer

The team at Menzies Malvern are looking for a dedicated Village Support Officer to join our team on a casual basis , helping to create an exceptional resident experience every day.
As part of our team, you will support residents in their daily lives while promoting independence and wellbeing across the village. As a valued all-rounder, you will assist with a variety of tasks and play an important role in fostering meaningful relationships with residents. You will contribute to the warm, inclusive environment that helps make this community a place residents are proud to call home.
Reporting the Assistant Village Manager, your duties will include: Responding to resident emergency calls and incidents Providing first aid support and coordinating emergency services when required Working independently and confidently when required, including after-hours shifts Responding to resident enquiries and delivering outstanding customer service in every interaction Helping maintain safe, clean, and welcoming community spaces Assisting with general administration and operational tasks Supporting resident wellbeing and village events Maintaining a respectful, safe and supportive environment for all residents Providing assistance with miscellaneous tasks around the village, as directed by manager Shifts This role requires availability to work primarily on Saturdays , with shifts rotating between day and afternoon/sleepover shifts.
Shift times are as follows: Day shift: 8am - 5pm Afternoon/Sleepover shift: 5pm - 10pm (active duty), followed by a sleepover from 10pm - 8am There will also be opportunities to pick up additional shifts during the week to cover annual leave and other absences, including day, afternoon and overnight shifts. You may also be required to provide on-call support when needed.
We encourage applications from candidates who are flexible and available to work weekends, afternoons and sleepover shifts. Please note that the ability to work sleepover shifts is an essential requirement of this position.
About You
A professional and positive approach is required at all times to ensure that all residents’ needs are met, as well as having the following: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse community A current First Aid & CPR Certificate (or be willing to obtain) The ability to work independently, be highly motivated and able to take initiative Have strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks effectively The ability to remain calm and respond appropriately in emergency situations Have basic computer skills A genuine passion for supporting and building positive relationships with residents A bout Keyton With over 65 villages across Australia, 15,000+ residents and 800+ passionate staff, we’re leading the way with heart, for a new age of wellbeing, connection and choice for all independent seniors.
