What you would do: Operate furnace charging equipment to support steel melting operations. Use overhead bridge cranes to safely move and handle steel scrap. Transport raw materials and supplies to keep the melt deck running efficiently. Learn to operate induction melting furnaces and monitor the melting process. Assist with furnace maintenance, refractory repairs, and equipment upkeep. Remove and transport slag hoppers and other production materials. Identify and communicate equipment issues or unusual operating conditions. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Work closely with experienced melt operators and team leaders to support daily production goals. Physical aspects of the role: Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs, hand use, and standing. Occasional carrying, lifting up to 50 lbs, pushing/pulling, reaching, complex neck/spinal motion, and walking. Minimal climbing, lifting up to 25 lbs, and below waist level work. What you bring: High School Diploma or GED equivalent (GEDWorks program eligible). Ability to read and understand instructions. Ability to perform basic math. Ability to read thermometers and record data. Nice to have's: Manufacturing experience in an industrial setting. Forklift operation experience. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will depend on various factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, and qualifications.
