Today, Ashbourne Enterprises operates a family of hospitality, retail, and agricultural businesses in the Louisville area. Our HR team supports employees across all of them, from farm and event staff to retail and kitchen teams, so no two days look quite the same.
About the Role
Ashbourne Enterprises is seeking an organized, detail-driven HR Generalist to keep our people function running smoothly every day. In this role, you’ll keep employee records and systems accurate, produce the reports that payroll and benefits depend on, move candidates through hiring, and make sure every new employee is fully set up before their first day.

Key Responsibilities
Update employee profiles and status changes promptly and accurately in our HRIS. Maintain physical and electronic records in line with record-retention requirements, and keep records audit-ready. HR, Payroll & Benefits Reporting: Prepare and distribute recurring reports on schedule, including new hire, termination, overtime, 401(k), benefits carrier (EOI, FMLA), and employee milestone reports.
Recruiting & Candidate Experience: Create job requisitions and post openings. Monitor the applicant tracking system daily and screen resumes against job requirements. Conduct phone screens, schedule manager interviews, and manage all candidate communication from first contact to final decision. Pre-Boarding & New-Hire Setup: Initiate and track background checks, send welcome emails to new hires and notices to managers, and distribute and audit onboarding paperwork.
Coordinate equipment, email, and building access. Set up new hires across our payroll/HRIS, timekeeping, and benefits administration software, and send benefits eligibility and 401(k) enrollment notices. Employee Separations: Process terminations across payroll, timekeeping, benefits administration, and retirement plan systems.
Send required benefits notices, coordinate system access removal with IT, calculate final PTO payouts, and arrange the return of company property. Process Improvement: Follow established SOPs consistently and flag gaps or opportunities to make our processes faster and more accurate.

System-Savvy: You enter data accurately across multiple platforms and pick up new systems quickly. Guest-Minded Communication: You communicate with candidates, employees, and managers in a friendly, professional, and prompt way.
Discreet & Trustworthy: You handle confidential employee and candidate information with care.
Qualifications
& Requirements Experience: 2–4 years of experience in HR administration, recruiting coordination, payroll or benefits support, or a similar administrative role. Systems: Experience with HRIS and applicant tracking systems required. Experience with Paycor and Paycor Recruiting is strongly preferred. Familiarity with benefits administration software is a plus.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field preferred. Certifications: aPHR or SHRM-CP is a plus. Travel: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for occasional travel between Ashbourne locations. Physical Demands: Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
Occasional walking and standing in farm, event, kitchen, and retail environments, including uneven terrain and outdoor conditions. Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
