Production Assembly Supervisor

Description Location: Galion, Ohio (On site) Hours: 1st Shift: Monday

• Thursday 6:00 am - 4:30 pm, hours may vary Position Summary Tramec Sloan in Galion, OH, is seeking an experienced, hands-on Production Assembly Supervisor to lead our assembly operations. We are looking for a strong leader who can effectively manage employees, coordinate daily production activities, resolve conflicts, and drive improvements in productivity, quality, and efficiency. This is a hands-on supervisory position that requires spending the majority of the workday on the production floor, actively directing, training, and working alongside employees to achieve department goals.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage production employees, including performance management, conflict resolution, coaching, and accountability. Review production schedules, establish daily priorities, and assign employees to machines and workstations to maximize productivity. Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs), including production efficiency, labor utilization, quality, and on-time delivery.

Conduct regular shop floor meetings to communicate production goals, safety concerns, quality expectations, and department performance. Provide hands-on training and support while maintaining an active presence on the production floor. Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities, process improvements, and solutions to production challenges.

Ensure employees follow established safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies. Address daily operational issues and make timely decisions to support efficient production operations.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience managing employees, resolving conflicts, and addressing performance issues.
• Ability to interpret production schedules, prioritize workloads, and effectively manage labor resources.
• Experience monitoring manufacturing KPIs and driving measurable improvements.
• Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to confidently lead employee meetings and provide effective training.
• Hands-on leadership approach with a willingness to work directly with production employees.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing assembly operations.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, or continuous improvement practices.
• Experience with ERP systems and production reporting.
