Supervisor, Crossdock Operations

About the Role

The Supervisor of Crossdock Operations plays a critical role in overseeing and optimizing the flow of goods through the crossdock facility to ensure timely and accurate distribution. This position is responsible for managing daily operational activities, coordinating with transportation teams, and maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.

The supervisor will lead a team of associates, providing guidance, training, and performance management to meet operational goals. They will also analyze workflow processes and implement improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs. Ultimately, this role ensures seamless coordination between inbound and outbound shipments, supporting the overall supply chain effectiveness within the transportation and warehousing sector in Mexico.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in logistics or warehousing is preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience in warehouse or crossdock operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role. Strong knowledge of transportation and warehousing processes, including inventory management and shipment coordination.

Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer applications. Must be expert level in English & Spanish; ability to communicate effectively with team members and management.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. Experience working in crossdock operations within the transportation and warehousing industry in Mexico. Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English to facilitate communication with international partners.

Certification in occupational health and safety or related areas.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate daily crossdock operations to ensure efficient handling and transfer of goods. Manage and lead a team of warehouse associates, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations. Collaborate with transportation and logistics teams to synchronize inbound and outbound shipments. Monitor compliance with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.

Analyze operational data to identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements to enhance productivity. Maintain accurate records of inventory movement and report operational metrics to management. Resolve operational issues promptly to minimize delays and maintain customer satisfaction. Skills: The required skills enable the supervisor to effectively manage daily operations by coordinating team activities and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Proficiency with warehouse management systems and data analysis tools allows for accurate tracking of inventory and identification of operational inefficiencies. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for motivating the team, resolving conflicts, and liaising with other departments.
