Commis Chef - The Hero's Return

The Hero's Return is recruiting Location: Battersea Power Station Commis Chef Job Overview We are seeking dedicated Commis chefs to join us at The Hero’s Return. successful candidates will be responsible for helping prepare high-quality dishes in accordance with our restaurant standards. Commis chefs will be responsible for cold preparations, overseen by a CDP or Sous chef, as well as ensuring all food safety regulations are adhered to and delivering exceptional food at a consistent standard.

Responsibilities

Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to established recipes and standards Oversee specific sections of the kitchen, such as grill, pastry, or sauté stations Assist in the organisation and management of kitchen supplies and ingredients Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations to comply with food safety regulations Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient service during busy periods Monitor food quality and presentation before serving to guests Support junior kitchen staff with training and guidance as required Ensure adherence to health and safety standards at all times Skills Basic knowledge of inner workings of a professional kitchen Keen interest in learning on the job Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene practices Organisational skills with the ability to work to a deadline Good communication skills to coordinate effectively with your colleagues Previous restaurant experience not required, good for people looking for apprenticeship This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to refine their culinary expertise while contributing to a vibrant dining environment.
