Food & Beverage Team Leader

I support my manager to fulfil the purpose of our function and the development of the IKEA business in the respective area of responsibility.

I strive to make people smile while providing irresistible food offers in a welcoming atmosphere that gives our customers a good reason to return again and again. I am line responsible during the work shift when the manager of the area is not present. I lead by example, but do not have any direct reports or conduct development talks.

I spend at least 80% of my working time on the floor, listening, acting, helping and supporting customers and co-workers. Motivation: I am motivated and inspired by the IKEA values. I am sales-driven and passionate about food and people. I am service-minded and always keep the customer in focus. I am driven to meet and exceed my goals.

I get as much out of helping my team achieve and develop as I do out of my own achievements. I am curious and eager to learn more in order to grow both the business and as a person. I share my knowledge with other colleagues. I enjoy working in a vibrant retail environment. I am interested in people’s everyday life at home and in home furnishings.

Knowledge: Experience of working in vibrant retail environment with proven track record. Experience of serving customers. Experience of working with an KPI-driven action plan. IKEA sales experience and knowledge of IKEA merchandising techniques. Experience of supervising and working in a team. Experience of developing action plans.

Knowledge of the IKEA Concept, including our vision and business idea, IKEA culture and values, and how we create our business advantages. Capabilities: A person with the potential to become a store department head as the next step in an established career path that could lead to the position of Commercial Swedish Food Market & Bistro Manager, Kitchen Production Manager, Commercial Restaurant Manager, Shopkeeper or possibly as an alternative step in her/his chosen career development.

Decision-making and problem-solving abilities with the drive to make things happen. Ability to prioritise and organise work. Takes responsibility and can delegate when necessary. Communicates well with others. This position is based in Mexico City (Oceanía) and offers a rare opportunity to be part of the establishment of IKEA in a whole new market.
