Biotech Business Development Lead

Growing pipeline discussions and partnership opportunities for biotech platforms, this remote position leads commercial growth within an AI-first operational model. The role translates complex scientific concepts across multispecific, antibody-style, and bio-AI programs into commercial narratives, ensuring partner alignment and rigorous reporting.

Approximately 10-20 hours per week. Operating with regular availability during US Eastern morning hours (5pm - 8pm SAST) for external engagements, the position drives structured outreach, manages alliance records, and coordinates confidentiality-stage requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain and update the partner and alliance tracking register with same-day status, progress, and actionable next steps. Convert approved program data into accurate summary materials, meeting narratives, and frequently asked questions while upholding scientific integrity. Lead scientific and commercial discussions with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and alliance management contacts, documenting key meeting outcomes.

Oversee pre-confidentiality checks with legal, intellectual property, and access-control teams before sharing non-public assets. Provide scientific and partnering context for investor, banking, and strategic merger communications using management-approved frameworks. Follow up on scope, quotation, and milestone details with commercial interface partners and advisory counterparties.

Integrate daily with bot-managed workflows to execute human-dependent business development tasks, outreach tracking, and follow-up activities.

Requirements

Demonstrable biotechnology or pharmaceutical business development, search and evaluation, or alliance management track record. Technical understanding of antibody, multispecific, and engager-style programs to engage effectively with scientific stakeholders. Fluent spoken and written English skills for regular communication with US counterparties.

Strict adherence to development-stage accuracy and non-disclosure requirements for unpublished scientific data. Capability to manage 10 to 15 concurrent partner workstreams while delivering same-day written progress updates. Daily operational experience using ChatGPT or Grok Bot within professional execution workflows.

Sound professional judgement regarding independent action versus escalating decisions involving contractual or financial commitments.
