Library Safety Officer

LIBRARY SAFETY OFFICER – The Central Arkansas Library System is seeking a full-time (40 hrs/week) library safety officer to work weekday hours, with evenings and Saturdays at the Children’s Library & Learning Center (4800 W 10th St., Little Rock, AR, 72204). The candidate must be outgoing, friendly, team-oriented, enjoy working with people of all ages, and have a customer service-oriented approach to public safety while working in a diverse and inclusive environment.

Essential duties

include working closely with branch staff to solve daily challenges and help diffuse various situations in a positive, courteous, and professional manner, interacting with youth, enforcing the rules of conduct, directing people to services, and assisting staff with public safety concerns. Experience working with youth preferred.

Must be able to stand, walk for extended periods of time, work indoors and outdoors. Some computer experience is a plus, but not required. Salary starts at $16.11 per hour and includes excellent benefits such as medical, dental, vision, company paid retirement, life insurance, paid time off, paid parental leave, and holiday pay.
