MULTIMEDIA COORDINATOR I ASSOCIATED STUDENTS INC. (This is not a State/University Position) SUMMARY: Performs skilled multimedia, graphic design, and marketing content creation work, including the development of digital advertising, print materials, graphics, photography, video, and visual communications. Supports ASI and Student Center marketing initiatives by creating audience-focused content that aligns with organizational goals, university guidelines, and brand standards.

listed below are not all inclusive and other duties may be assigned. This position reports directly to the ASI Marketing Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

& RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises the ASI Multimedia Student Technicians and Graphic Design Student Assistants by selecting, training, facilitating meetings, and delegating work. Conducts performance evaluations, sets area goals, leads, and monitors workflow. Schedules student assistants and provides support during absences.

Multimedia Responsibilities: Creates and produces graphics, multimedia content, digital advertising, marketing materials, visual presentations, and written, photographic, and video content to support ASI & SC programs, services, events, and initiatives. Demonstrates proficiency and technical expertise in photography, videography, photo editing, video editing, and graphic design, including producing high-quality content in event, promotional, and other fast-paced environments.

Photographs and records ASI & SC programs, events, services, and initiatives using professional photography and video equipment and appropriate techniques related to composition, lighting, audio, framing, and visual storytelling. Edits, color-corrects, retouches, and prepares photographs, digital graphics, and other visual materials using Adobe Creative Suite and other applicable professional design and multimedia software.

Edits and produces video content, including footage selection and sequencing, color correction, audio editing, graphics, titles, transitions, and other post-production elements necessary to create polished final products. Produces high-quality, quick-turnaround photo, video, and multimedia content for events, social media, digital communications, campaigns, and other time-sensitive marketing needs, efficiently capturing, editing, finalizing, and delivering content within short deadlines.

  • Independently develops original artwork, graphics, layouts, and marketing materials based on established design standards and direction from the supervisor or requesting department. Adapts and reformats graphic, photographic, and video content for use across multiple communication platforms and specifications, including social media, websites, digital signage, television displays, email communications, presentations, print materials, and other digital channels, ensuring content is appropriately sized, formatted, optimized, and visually consistent for each platform. Manages assigned design and multimedia projects from initial concept through completion, including gathering requirements, establishing project timelines, coordinating revisions, managing competing deadlines, and preparing final materials for production and distribution. Receives, evaluates, and prioritizes design, photography, videography, editing, and multimedia requests from internal departments. Exercises independent judgment in managing workload and timelines and refers complex, high-priority, or conflicting requests to the supervisor as appropriate.
  • Routes design proofs and multimedia drafts to requesting departments for review, incorporates approved revisions, and prepares final artwork, photographs, videos, and other files for print and digital production in accordance with established specifications and deadlines.
  • Coordinates the production and distribution of print and digital marketing materials across multiple platforms, ensuring content is delivered accurately and within established timelines. Operates, maintains, inventories, and ensures the proper care and use of professional photography, videography, lighting, audio, printing, and other multimedia production equipment. Maintains organized and accessible files of ASI & SC design assets, photographs, raw and edited video footage, project files, and other marketing materials in SharePoint or designated shared drives. Participates in brainstorming and creative development sessions and provides recommendations related to graphic design, photography, videography, multimedia production, and visual storytelling. Promotes consistent application of established ASI & SC brand standards, university guidelines, and approved visual communication standards and reviews materials for consistency, accuracy, quality, accessibility, and adherence to established standards. Communicates proactively with team members and internal clients to clarify project requirements, creative direction, specifications, priorities, and deadlines and provides timely updates regarding assigned projects and production schedules. Administration Responsibilities: Coordinates assigned administrative and operational activities related to design and multimedia services and maintains appropriate records. Coordinates and participates in the planning of meetings, projects, and program activities, providing updates on assigned projects. Monitors inventory, independently identifies supply needs, and requests supplies as needed. Coordinates and prepares presentations, reports, visual materials, and other administrative documents. Researches and evaluates emerging design trends and practices and develops and delivers annual presentations on visual assets, branding practices, and design trends for ASI & SC.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in digital marketing or related field Two years’ experience in graphic design work and photo/video production. Proficiency with design, video, and photo editing tools, digital media formats. Knowledge of methods, techniques, equipment, design and desktop publishing and print software. Layout design of brochures, manuals, newsletters, and other media.

Knowledge of copyright laws applicable to design work and creative properties. Demonstrated experience with staff supervision, and budget management. English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of state and university policies and regulations. Experience in a non-profit organization. Experience working in Higher Education. Demonstrated experience with staff supervision. TYPICAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS: Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; normal manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; lift and move objects weighing up to 20 lbs.

; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment, including computer, telephone, copiers. Work is performed in an office environment and throughout the campus areas during student programs; continuous contact with other staff, students, faculty, and the public. This position will work evenings and weekends depending on business needs.
