Substitute Teacher

Altar Valley School District #51 Job Title: Substitute Teacher Rate of Pay: $150.00 per day | Long-Term Rate: $175.00 per day Employment Type: On-Call / As-Needed SUMMARY Performs the regular teacher's class lesson plans and manages classroom activities while the teacher is absent. ESSENTIAL DUTIES

& RESPONSIBILITIES Reports to the school principal or secretary upon arrival. Communicates, collaborates, and cooperates effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and students. Maintains the routines and procedures of the assigned school and classroom. Assumes responsibility for instructing classes and fulfilling other duties during the teacher's absence.

Oversees student behavior and ensures a safe learning environment. Maintains appropriate records for the absent teacher. Follows all district and individual school policies, rules, and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Possess or have the ability to obtain an Arizona Substitute Teaching Certificate. Possess or have the ability to obtain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card (IVP).
