Job description
Leave Replacement Elementary / Resource Teacher January 4, 2027 through May 21, 2027 Position Purpose Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individual students and by creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to various learning styles. Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration. Assess student progress through regular evaluations, providing constructive feedback to enhance learning outcomes.
Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administration to support student development and address any academic or behavioral concerns. Coordinates with other elementary professional staff members, especially within grade level, to evaluate and assess curriculum, and participates in faculty meetings and committees. Selects and requisitions appropriate books, instructional aids and other supplies and equipment and maintains inventory records.
Supervises students in activities that take place out of the classroom during the school day, including activities involving school transportation. Administers standardized tests in accordance with District testing programs. Stay current with educational best practices and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation.
Requirements
New Jersey Department of Education certification for Elementary School Teacher K-6 or K-8 and Teacher of Students with Disabilities Previous teaching experience in a classroom setting is preferred but not mandatory; new graduates are encouraged to apply. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and staff.
Demonstrated ability to manage classroom dynamics and foster a positive learning atmosphere. Proficiency in using technology as an educational tool is advantageous. Required criminal history background check Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status Current residency in New Jersey, approved residency waiver or candidate agrees to obtain residency within one year of employment Job Type : Full-Time.
