Substitute School Nurse

Position: Substitute School Nurse Reports To: Assistant Superintendent Job Summary: The Petal School District is seeking qualified and compassionate Registered Nurses (RNs) to serve as Substitute School Nurses on an as-needed basis. This position provides health services to students and staff to support a safe, healthy, and productive learning environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide direct care to students and staff for illness or injury in accordance with district health policies and procedures. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed. Monitor and manage students with chronic health conditions and individualized health plans. Maintain accurate and confidential health records.

Communicate with parents, staff, and healthcare providers as needed. Assist in maintaining compliance with state health regulations and district policies.

Qualifications

Must hold a current Mississippi Registered Nurse (RN) license . Experience in pediatric, school, or community health settings preferred. Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff.
