Job description

Daylight PMS is a distributed system that serves the hospitality industry. It is a solution that allows hotel employees or hotel managers to handle various activities such as managing reservations, payments and hotel services within the hotel or between hotels.

The system consists of many domain-oriented microservices developed under a few cross-functional teams. Job description:

  • designing and implementing new infrastructure components
  • day to day support of developers
  • creating new application hosting environments
  • maintenance of the existing infrastructure

  • We use Kanban to manage tasks
  • Our teamwork is based on Jira
  • We participate in daily, weekly and retro meetings
  • We use Gitlab as a code repository with a trunk-based development approach
  • We use Gitlab CI to automate our (and other's) jobs
  • We build environments in AWS with Terraform/Terragrunt
  • We develop deployment solutions for Kubernetes
  • We support local environments with Docker/docker-compose (for developers)
  • We create libraries, tools and AWS Lambdas in Python
  • We create Docker images for automation and internal usage
  • We act using the "Everything as Code" philosophy
  • We do not release applications to the environments (there is a dedicated team of Release Managers)
  • We use MS Teams to spread knowledge and participate in meetings Our system:
  • Our primary cloud service provider is AWS. We use most of the popular services including EC2, S3, RDS, SES, SNS and many more
  • We write all of our infrastructure as code using Terraform and Terragrunt
  • Our application that is written in .NET Core runs on top of Kubernetes cluster deployed in EKS
  • We have very large observability stack that includes collecting logs and metrics and visualizing it in Grafana and Kibana
  • DevOps Team are also responsible for managing GitLab, Jenkins and Nexus
  • We write our internal tool set using Python and Golang Key Areas of Responsibility:
  • Co-deciding on the direction of technological development for the team
  • Designing the cloud infrastructure (including complex solutions using Kubernetes)
  • Building the infrastructure itself
  • Ensuring the security of the infrastructure
  • Mentoring less experienced colleagues (both technically and non-technically) Requirements Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of commercial experience in AWS and Kubernetes
  • Minimum 1 year of commercial experience in Terraform
  • Experience in GNU Linux
  • Experience with CI/CD process using Jenkins or Gitlab
  • Team player
  • Opennes to new technologies and paradigms
  • Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions
