Research, Data & Insights Analysts

Auckland, New ZealandFull-timePosted Oct 19, 2026

Job description

We’re looking for a curious and motivated Research, Data & Insights (RDI) Analyst to help turn data and research into clear, useful insights for teams across Sky. This is an early-careers opportunity for someone in the first two years of their career, including recent or soon-to-be graduates, who wants to build a career within analytics, research and insight domain.

Working alongside experienced RDI Business Partners and colleagues, you’ll explore customer and viewer behaviour, prepare reports, presentations and insight outputs to answer business questions with evidence to tell a story to your stakeholders. You’ll be supported to learn our tools, data and ways of working while building confidence in communicating what the information means in practical terms for the business to support everyday decisions across the business.

You don’t need to arrive knowing everything; what matters most is your curiosity, care with detail, willingness to learn and interest in using data to make a difference. This role could suit someone who can turn complex ideas into tangible insights, and can bring people on a journey through data, research or insights.

You’re someone still early in your career (within the first two years), or a recent graduate hungry to learn, to support our Business Partners on the day to day tasks/needs of the business. We’re interested in your potential, curiosity and willingness to learn as much as your previous experience. What you bring to this role: A genuine interest in data, research, customer behaviour and how insights support better decisions.

Foundational analytical skills developed through study, an internship, project work or early professional experience. Confidence working with numbers and information, with strong attention to detail and a thoughtful approach to problem-solving. Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain what you have found in simple terms.

A collaborative mindset, openness to feedback and enthusiasm for learning from others. Some exposure to spreadsheets, reporting, data visualisation, along with basic coding (SQL, Python or R) is helpful, but we don’t expect you to be an expert. Explore customer and viewer data to identify patterns, trends and useful insights.

Prepare accurate, timely reports, presentations and simple visualisations that help people understand performance. Support research and insight projects that build understanding of current and potential customers. Work with experienced analysts and business partners to turn questions into clear analytical tasks and outputs.

Check your work carefully and help maintain consistent, reliable data and documentation. Explain findings in straightforward language and help stakeholders use insights with confidence. Learn new tools, methods and ways of working, seek feedback, and contribute positively to the wider Research, Data & Insights team. Look for opportunities to simplify recurring work, improve processes and develop more efficient ways of producing and sharing insights.
