Job Summary

The AV Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and servicing audio-visual systems at customer sites. This includes unboxing, assembling, wiring, mounting, and testing equipment such as displays, speakers, projectors, cameras, control systems, and related devices. The AV Technician ensures all installations meet company standards for safety, quality, and performance while providing excellent customer service.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: Install and service audio-visual systems, including displays, projectors, speakers, microphones, cameras, and control equipment. Run and terminate cables (audio, video, data, and control) following industry best practices. Mount and secure equipment such as displays, screens, and projectors.

Assist in system configuration, testing, and troubleshooting. Read and interpret AV system drawings, wiring schematics, and construction plans. Complete daily work orders, service logs, and installation documentation accurately. Follow all company and job site safety procedures. Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment in proper working condition.

Communicate effectively with customers and team members about installation progress and issues. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Foreman or Project Manager. Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to read and understand AV schematics, wiring diagrams, and floor/ceiling plans. Knowledge of basic AV installation techniques and standards.

Ability to pull, label, crimp, and terminate low-voltage cabling. Basic understanding of AV and network test equipment. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to lift and install equipment, climb ladders, and work in various construction environments.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required. 1-3 years of experience in AV installation or related low-voltage field (preferred). OSHA 10 or 30 Certification (preferred). Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook). Industry certifications a plus (CTS, Crestron, Extron, Biamp, etc).
