Embedded Lead
Job description
We are looking for an Embedded Lead / Embedded Team Member to understand and gather requirements, develop and debug embedded software and BSPs, prepare software engineering and testing documentation, interface with stakeholders, and ensure quality, coding standards, and timely delivery throughout the project life cycle.
Responsibilities
- Understand and gather requirements from MRD, PRD, and requirement specifications.
- Interact with stakeholders on project/program updates, reviews, deliverables, and activities throughout the project life cycle.
- Establish efficient development systems and quality assurance practices while adhering to coding conventions and deadlines.
- Prepare software requirement specifications, traceability documents, test plans, and test reports.
- Customize, develop, debug, and test BSP (Board Support Package) for embedded platforms.
- Interpret schematics, datasheets, and specifications for implementation, debugging, and testing.
Requirements
BTech/BE/MTech/ME in Computer Science, Electronics/ECE, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Technical Skills (Must haves):
- Strong Embedded Linux and firmware development background; Linux flavors and Yocto Linux knowledge.
- Strong Embedded C and/or C++ programming skills with hands-on experience.
- Hands-on experience with various architectures.
- Strong kernel device-driver development skills, mainly Linux-based.
- Strong ability to interpret schematics and correlate them with hardware platforms.
- Ability to interpret datasheets and technical specifications.
- Hands-on experience with peripheral and communication-interface device drivers.
- Hands-on experience with UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, USB, PCIe, CSI, and related interfaces/protocols.
- Experience with Linux kernel internals, Makefiles, cross-compilers, and toolchains.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and testing skills.
- Hands-on experience with Git, SVN, CVS, Jira, Bugzilla, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with scopes, multimeters, JTAG, and hardware debuggers. Need to have (Can be bridged):
- Excellent technical expertise in designing and developing embedded products, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong test engineering concepts and processes, including unit-test and system-test team experience.
- Hands-on experience implementing real-time embedded software, RTOS, and Android-based development.
- Python and Linux shell scripting experience is a strong plus.
- Understanding of a prudent, process-driven approach. Good to have (Not essential):
- Yocto Linux experience and broader exposure to multiple interfaces/protocols and operating systems.
Preferred Qualifications
(Optional):
- Experience working closely with hardware teams on embedded product development, debugging, and validation.
