Our client is leading listed appliances company having 1000 Cr plus turnover based near Bangalore, dedicated to delivering high-quality and innovative products to enhance the culinary experience. Head of Purchase Location: Near Bangalore Reports To: Managing Director (MD) Job Summary: The Head of Purchase will oversee and manage the procurement activities of the company, ensuring the acquisition of high-quality materials, components, and services at competitive prices.

This role involves strategic planning, supplier relationship management, and efficient coordination with other departments to support the company's growth and operational efficiency. The candidate should have a strong network of relationship in global sourcing especially from South East Asia . Understanding of Raw Materials like Steel, Brass, Plastic, components etc essential.

Candidate having worked in mass production industry with multiple plant facilities would be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the company’s business goals. Forecast market trends and anticipate changes to ensure continuous supply of required materials. Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure advantageous terms. Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors.

Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular assessments to ensure quality and reliability. Cost Management: Manage budgets and ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions. Identify opportunities for cost savings and implement initiatives to achieve financial targets. Conduct market research and analysis to benchmark pricing and procurement processes.

Quality Assurance: Ensure all purchased materials and components meet the company’s quality standards. Collaborate with the quality control team to address any issues related to supplier performance or product quality. Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels and ensure optimal stock management to avoid shortages or overstock situations.

Coordinate with the production and sales teams to align procurement activities with demand forecasts. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth. Set performance goals, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree with a requisite PG in Materials Management or a related field. Minimum of 15 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in the appliances or consumer electronics industry. Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Proven ability to develop and implement successful procurement strategies. Experience with procurement software and tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Competencies: Leadership and team management. Strategic thinking and decision making. Financial acumen and budget management.

Supplier relationship management. Excellent organizational and project management skills. Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
