Job description
The Utility Worker position starts a fostering career in the Maintenance Department. A motivated Utility Worker has the chance to become a journeyed mechanic with the district. With appropriate experience and knowledge this journey starts at the entry level Mechanic C, then can progress to the intermediate Mechanic B position, and finally can arrive at the journey level Mechanic A.
The Utility Worker reports to the Utility Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for safely cleaning, maintaining, and servicing all transit vehicles and maintenance facilities for the San Mateo County Transit District (Sam.
