Job Summary
APP Manager, Neurosurgery South Shore Hospital | Mass General Brigham Lead. Mentor. Advance Neurosurgical Care. Mass General Brigham is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Manager to lead the Neurosurgery APP team at South Shore Hospital. This role combines clinical practice and leadership, offering an opportunity to drive operational excellence, develop APP talent, and deliver exceptional patient care across neurosurgical settings.
Ideal candidates are collaborative Physician Assistants (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioners (NP) with strong clinical expertise and demonstrated leadership experience. Position Highlights Leadership and clinical practice role 0.1 FTE protected administrative time Practice across clinic, inpatient consults, operating room, and weekend coverage Lead APP staffing, scheduling, recruitment, onboarding, and professional development Partner closely with physicians, nursing leaders, and hospital administration Generally predictable schedule with flexibility to meet clinical needs What You'll Do Clinical Leadership Provide direct patient care as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner within Neurosurgery Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to APP staff Support best practices, quality initiatives, and patient safety efforts Team Management Lead, coach, and develop a team of Advanced Practice Providers Manage staffing, scheduling, performance evaluations, and employee development Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture Operations & Workforce Planning Oversee recruitment, hiring, and onboarding activities Partner with leadership on staffing models and workforce planning Ensure efficient APP coverage across clinical services Quality & Education Support quality improvement initiatives and clinical excellence Develop onboarding, educational, and competency programs Ensure compliance with documentation, billing, and regulatory standards Qualifications Required Master's Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program Current Massachusetts PA or NP license 5+ years of APP experience Previous leadership, supervisory, or program coordination experience preferred Skills Strong clinical and leadership capabilities Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment Commitment to quality, patient safety, and operational excellence Why Join Mass General Brigham?

Education
