JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Job Summary: Responsible for assigned accounting duties including posting, coding, reconciling and reporting of financial transactions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assist with bi-weekly payroll processing, including timesheet review, communication with managers regarding discrepancies, collaborating with People & Culture on any employee matters related to payroll, and assisting employees with basic payroll related questions. Reviews, prepares, codes, and posts vendor invoices Accounts Payable software (BILL).

Follows up with approvers on pending invoices. Communicate with vendors regarding documents needed and electronic payment enrollment. Retrieves and processes utility bills for various centers. Assist with annual 1099 issuance to vendors. Assist with preparing and filing monthly and quarterly returns related to independent contractors.

Prepares and files various accounting forms required by government agencies. Assist with annual audit (BIA and retirement plan audits). Duties may include scanning hard copy documents, identifying digital documents requested and submitting documents for manager review. Duties may include processing purchase orders, and converting received purchase orders.

Provide back up for Accounts Receivable functions as needed. Duties include generating customer invoices and recording receipts. May train and oversee the work of volunteers, student interns, and temporary workers. Performs other duties as assigned. As the organization continues to evolve, duties or tasks may change without impacting on the overall Job Description.

Knowledge and Education: Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Some college courses in accounting are strongly preferred. Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting software is required. Skills and Abilities: Position requires good mathematics, computer, organization, time management, and communication skills.

The ability to multi-task with attention to detail and accuracy is essential. Experience: At least one year of general accounting and/or banking experience is needed. Certifications/licenses: N/A Work Environment: Position works in a standard office environment. Physical Requirements: Position operates standard office equipment.
