Job description

We are seeking a Finance Manager to join our Global Capability Center in Mumbai. This role will manage Record-to-Report activities, ensuring accurate financial accounting, reporting, reconciliations, and compliance with internal controls. The role oversees fixed assets, intercompany transactions, provisions, revenue recognition, and month-end close processes.

Essential Duties

  • Oversee R2R process including but not limited to managing fixed assets, CWIP, impairments, disposals, and related accounting updates.
  • Oversee intercompany accounting for loans, dividends, settlements, confirmations, and reconciliations.
  • Handle GL Accounting activities including: o Provisions & accruals o Prepaid accounting o Investments & donations accounting o Special award accounting
  • Ensure accurate revenue recognition and periodic cost allocations including write-offs.
  • Record Forex gains/losses and prepare Forex analysis and reports.
  • Review monthly GL, bank, inventory reconciliations and review adjustment entries to ensure accurate period close.
  • Support process improvements, automation, and adherence to internal controls.
  • Manage team tasks, workload planning, and compliance with reporting timelines
  • Analyze financial data, prepare management reports, and assist in period end closings.
  • Support audits in terms of adherence to internal controls and accounting standards.
  • Lead process improvements and provide guidance/training to finance teams and employees
  • Other duties as assigned. Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of R2R processes, general accounting (including forex) and month-end close expertise.
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP accounting standards, statutory and regulatory compliance required , fixed asset and intercompany accounting along with an ability to manage complex accounting entries.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional coordination.
  • Problem-solving mindset with capability to streamline processes and control on compliance.
  • Ability to work independently researching questions.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial processing and reporting.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to coach team members and manage performance.
  • Ability to work closely and communicate effectively with accounting team in the U.S.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/m’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field.
  • Professional certifications like Chartered Accountant, Certified Public Accountant required.
  • Knowledge of U.S. (GAAP) required.
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in R2R, general accounting, or financial reporting, including 3+ years in managerial capacity.
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards, asset accounting, intercompany frameworks, and month-end close processes.
  • Proficiency in Excel (capable to manage large data sets) and ERP systems (Workday, SAP, Oracle or similar).
  • Fluent communication skills, leadership and stakeholder management abilities.
