Job description
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.
ABOUT THE TEAM
The Maritime team at Anduril builds world-class autonomous maritime platforms - undersea and surface vehicles and systems and seabed sensors. The team is responsible for taking products like Dive-LD, Dive-XL, Copperhead, and Seabed Sentry from concept to operational systems. As part of this team, your role will involve building the Product Operations function within a larger deployment and sustainment group. We work in close coordination with specialist teams including engineering, program management, and field operations to ensure successful employment of these products and to advance the state-of-the-possible in subsea robotics.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Product Operations Technical Specialist for Maritime, you will play an important role in ensuring the reliability and readiness of Anduril’s Maritime products. This family of intelligent, autonomous undersea systems work together to develop unmatched situational awareness, precision engagement, and scalable maritime dominance. You will be an integral piece to ensuring that Anduril meets this mission for our customers. In this role you will help support end users by following and improving field failure discovery, mitigation, and resolution processes. You will help identify failure modes that contribute to root cause analysis, and you will help deploy fixes and manage the incident lifecycle across the Maritime fleet. This position requires a strong problem-solving mindset and hands-on expertise in debugging and resolving complex electromechanical issues. If you are passionate about cutting-edge technology, advancing national security, and delivering best-in-class operational support, Anduril invites you to join the team.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Own Incident Triage and Resolution: Be the first technical responder for issues across our global Maritime fleet. Dig into logs, telemetry, and system state to isolate faults across software, hardware, and network boundaries, and drive incidents to resolution.
- Keep Customers Operational: When a full engineering fix will take time, identify and deploy interim mitigations and workarounds so customers can keep operating, while you manage the permanent fix in parallel.
- Analyze Fleet Telemetry: Pull, query, and analyze fleet health data and logs yourself to spot trends, predict failures, and prevent issues before they reach the customer.
- Drive Fleet Reliability: Partner directly with software and hardware engineering teams to turn real-world field data and failure analysis into permanent system upgrades and design improvements.
- Bridge the Gap: Act as the critical translator between deeply technical engineering teams, business development stakeholders, and military operators in the field, explaining complex issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Help Build the Playbook: Turn what you learn on real incidents into repeatable triage procedures, diagnostic tooling, and runbooks that scale as the Maritime fleet grows worldwide.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical or related field, OR equivalent hands-on technical experience (military, maritime, industrial, or field support).
- Systems Troubleshooting: Hands-on experience troubleshooting software-intensive or networked systems in a production, field, or customer-facing environment (for example: reading logs, isolating faults across software and hardware boundaries, reproducing issues).
- Command Line and Data Skills: Working proficiency with the Linux command line, and comfort analyzing data beyond spreadsheets (SQL, Python, bash, or similar).
- Problem-Solving Mindset: A proven ability to work through ambiguous, unstructured technical problems from first principles, including the instinct to deploy interim mitigations and workarounds that keep customers operational while permanent fixes are engineered.
- Self-Driven: Self-starter with a record of high achievement in multiple domains, who learns new systems by getting hands-on with them.
- Technical Communication and Collaboration: Ability to communicate and coordinate technical and non-technical efforts across business, engineering, and sustainment functions, influencing decision-making, resource allocation, and operational planning.
- Clearance and Location: Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance, and based in (or willing to relocate to) Quincy, MA.
- Travel and Schedule: Ability to travel as needed to support customer operations and test events. Willingness to work non-standard hours and weekends as needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
We recognize that great leaders come from diverse backgrounds. We do not expect you to meet every single one of these criteria:
- Prior experience in a technical support escalation, field service engineering, site reliability (SRE), or customer-facing technical operations role.
- Scripting experience (Python or bash) used to automate diagnostics, parse logs, or build internal tooling.
- Familiarity with modern observability and ticketing tools (such as Grafana, Jira, or Git).
- Experience with data platforms (such as Palantir Foundry) to conduct trend analysis and drive decisions.
- Experience supporting and/or deploying undersea munitions, vehicles, or unmanned undersea systems (UUVs) as a DoD contractor or military end-user.
- Familiarity with naval systems or operations, or prior military, DoD civilian, or government agency experience.
