Security Officer

Location: Glenwood Springs, CO 81601 Employment Type: Part-Time Pay: $19.00 per hour Schedule: Friday

• Sunday | 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM Position Overview Citadel Security USA is looking for a professional and attentive Unarmed Security Officer to provide weekend coverage in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. This role involves maintaining a visible security presence, observing activity, completing routine patrols, and helping address concerns before they escalate. The right candidate will communicate respectfully with the public, recognize situations that require attention, and follow established procedures when handling incidents. Reliability, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently are important to success in this position.

Responsibilities

Patrols and General Security Maintain an attentive presence throughout assigned areas to help discourage unauthorized activity. Check designated indoor and outdoor spaces, entrances, exits, walkways, and other assigned areas. Watch for unusual behavior, property damage, hazards, or conditions that may affect safety. Follow assigned post orders, company policies, and location-specific procedures.

Report security concerns promptly and take appropriate action within the scope of assigned duties. Incident Response and De-escalation Respond calmly to disturbances, suspicious activity, and other reported concerns. Communicate clearly and respectfully when addressing difficult situations. Use appropriate verbal de-escalation techniques when necessary.

Contact a supervisor or emergency services when circumstances require additional assistance. Maintain professional judgment and composure during unexpected events. Reports and Communication Keep accurate daily activity logs and complete required security records. Document significant incidents, observations, and actions taken in clear, factual reports.

Notify supervisors or authorized management personnel of relevant concerns. Follow established reporting procedures and submit documentation on time. Communicate important information clearly to support continuity between shifts. Customer Service and Professional Conduct Treat customers, employees, visitors, and members of the public with courtesy and respect.

Provide basic directions or assistance when appropriate. Maintain a professional presence while balancing helpful service with security responsibilities. Refer questions or concerns outside the scope of the position to the appropriate personnel. Protect confidential information and represent Citadel Security USA professionally.

Required Qualifications Dependable attendance and punctuality. Professional communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to follow written instructions, verbal directions, and established procedures. Sound judgment and the ability to remain calm during challenging interactions. Ability to work independently while recognizing when additional support is needed.

Willingness to complete required background screening.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in security or a similar position. Customer service experience or regular interaction with the public. Familiarity with patrol procedures and routine safety checks. Experience preparing daily logs or incident reports. Ability to resolve routine conflicts professionally and recognize when escalation is necessary.
