NLGV Driver Operative

6 Months Contract with a Local Authority Umbrella - £19.64 per hour

• Umbrella Job Purpose As an NLGV Driver Operative , you will support Street Scene and Clean & Green services by driving non-HGV vehicles and carrying out environmental maintenance, street cleansing and public realm duties to help maintain a clean and safe environment across the borough. Key Duties/Accountabilities
• Drive NLGV vehicles and operate cleansing equipment.
• Carry out street cleansing and environmental maintenance duties.
• Remove litter, waste and fly-tipping.
• Empty litter bins and maintain public spaces.
• Operate mechanical sweepers and associated equipment.
• Undertake manual labour and outdoor operational duties.
• Complete daily vehicle inspections and safety checks.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures.
• Support environmental improvement and cleansing programmes.
• Work effectively as part of the Clean & Green team.
• Deliver services in line with operational standards and targets. Essential Experience Required
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Previous experience in street cleansing, grounds maintenance, environmental services or manual labour.
• Experience driving light commercial vehicles.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Reliable and flexible approach to work. Additional Information to Note
• Working Hours: 37 hours per week.
• Monday to Friday.
• Shift Pattern: 07:00 - 15:00.
• West Thurrock, Essex, RM20 3ED.
• Driving Licence Required.
• Data Protection Level 1 Training desirable.
