Job description

We are seeking a full-time Customs Coordinator to join our talented team! As a Coordinator, Customs and Compliance , you’ll manage the import process from start to finish. You’ll file ISFs, prepare and self-file customs entries, classify products, and make sure every shipment clears on time and in full compliance. If you know your way around ACE/ABI, enjoy solving problems, and want to bring your trade compliance experience to a company that imports its own products, we’d like to hear from you.

What you’ll do Prepare and submit customs entries (CBP Form 7501) through the Magaya ABI system so import shipments are released on time. Classify imported products under the U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule, determine duties based on valuation, and identify shipments that qualify for special or reduced tariffs. Work with vendors to get Importer Security Filing (ISF) information on time, and keep our ERP system updated with ISF details, container numbers, and bills of lading.

Compile and review import documents, including commercial invoices, cargo-control papers, and certificates of origin and analysis. Audit and process payment of duties, fees, and port charges. Track shipments through customs, manage exams by FDA and other U.S. government agencies, and resolve holds or delays quickly to keep service charges down.

Support the logistics team with freight tendering, expediting inbound shipments, and post-entry customs correspondence. Lead special projects and continuous improvement initiatives that make our import process better. What you bring 3+ years of customs or trade compliance experience in the freight forwarding industry.

Hands-on fluency with ACE/ABI and solid knowledge of CBP regulations, HTS classification, and INCOTERMS. Familiarity with ITACS and FDA exam procedures. Working knowledge of air freight, LCL, and FCL shipping, plus domestic trucking and rail. Strong attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple deadlines with minimal supervision.

Clear written and verbal communication skills and a knack for resolving problems. Proficiency with email and Microsoft Office. High school diploma or equivalent. Bonus points for A current U.S. Customs Broker License with no pending restrictions. A 2- or 4-year degree in international business, supply chain management, or a related field.
