Fleet Technician III (Full Time)

FLEET TECHNICIAN III (FULL TIME) Click here for job description Number of available positions: 1 High School Diploma or G.E.D. required. Texas Class A Commercial operator’s license (CDL) preferred, not required. Texas Class C Driver’s license acceptable if applicant has also passed written portion of test. Must obtain Texas Class A Commercial Operator's License (CDL) prior to promoting to Fleet Technician II position.

Must obtain Texas Department of Public Safety State Inspection Certification at the request of Fleet Manager, but not later than six months from assignment to position. Two A.S.E certifications preferred, not required. In lieu of certifications, preference will be given to candidates who have completed an automotive trade school program or have equivalent professional automotive experience in a commercial or shop environment.

Certifications must be kept current and renewed in a timely manner. Must have two years’ experience as a Preventive Maintenance Technician with the City of Richardson, or two years of verifiable technician experience required in another fleet or retail automotive environment. Knowledge of primary welding skills in automotive or construction fields is preferred.
