Forestry Industry Placement Year

Nicholsons is looking for a Forester to join us for an industry placement year from September 2027

• August 2028. Join a growing forestry team working across woodland creation, management and estate projects. You'll gain hands-on experience in all aspects of modern forestry, from planting and establishment through to woodland management, harvesting and conservation.

What you'll do

• Assist with woodland creation and management projects
• Support forestry operations on estates and commercial woodlands
• Carry out surveys, inspections and data collection
• Work with experienced foresters and land managers
• Develop practical and technical forestry skills What we're looking for:
• A placement year student studying Forestry, Arboriculture or a related subject
• A passion for the natural environment
• Practical, proactive and willing to learn
• Strong communication and organisational skills What you'll gain:

This position is a 12-month industry placement, Monday to Friday (40 hours per week) 7:30am – 4:30pm, from our Oxfordshire site in North Aston.
