• Locums Coverage Period: Aug 01, 2026 – Ongoing Shift Schedule: 12-hour shifts Reason for Coverage: Coverage Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: Approximately 33 patients per day Case Mix: Emergency Medicine cases FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Epic Support Staff Available: NPs and PAs JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: BC/BE in Emergency Medicine (ABEM, AOBEM, ABMS EM/FM/IM) Licenses: Active unrestricted VA Medical License and DEA with VA address & schedules 2,2N,3,3N,4,5 DEA / CDS: Active DEA and CDS required Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, PALS (if not BC in EM); NRP for non-ABEM providers Experience: Residency trained in EM/FM/IM; new graduates within 12 months acceptable; 3-month proctorship required Other Qualifications: Case logs for the last two years; CME/CEU including preeclampsia training; current immunizations and TB test DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients presenting to the ED. Supervise and direct mid-level providers (NPs and PAs) as the supervising physician. Work 12-hour shifts in a coverage model that includes 10-hour mid-level support. Manage an average daily volume of approximately 33 patients. Collaborate with nursing and support staff to ensure efficient patient flow and quality care.
