General Functions : This position performs skilled technical work specializing in one or more of the following areas: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, rigging, lighting, audio, telecommunications and other building systems and services for the convention center. Work is performed with considerable independent judgement and is under the direction of the Technical Operations Supervisor and is reviewed through periodic conferences and reports. Representative Duties/Assignments : Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties, it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification. Performs work in a variety of skilled trades, including: Electrical Systems Plumbing and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration) Carpentry and Masonry Surface Finishes (Painting, Carpet and Tile Laying) Locksmithing and Machining Mechanical Systems (Mechanics, Generator & Power Generation Equipment) Structural Repairs (Roofing, Sheetrock/Drywall, Doors, Air Walls and Partitions) Technical Systems (Lighting, Sound and Audiovisual, Electronic Fire Alarms, Fire Sprinkler Maintenance and Repair) Exterior Maintenance (Roads and Sidewalks ¿ Asphalt and Concrete, Irrigation and Landscaping) Interacts on a regular basis with exhibitors and center staff to ensure the highest level of customer service. Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of experience in one or more of the above skilled areas of responsibility. An equivalent combination of education or experience may be substituted. Depending on the area of assignment, must possess and maintain valid licenses and/or certifications: Florida Driver¿s License A valid Florida Driver¿s License Journeyman Electrician¿s License Universal Technician Certification in Air Conditioning (EPA Certification) Rigging Certification (e.g., ETCP) Preferences : Working knowledge and/or skills regarding electrical distribution equipment, computerized lighting and audio equipment, chillers and air handlers and/or a variety of motorized high-lift equipment. Previous experience working in a convention center or highly occupied facility performing related maintenance and/or installation of utilities, air conditioning, heating, ventilation, lighting/audio services, rigging or facility maintenance.

Pay Grade: 012 - From $20.54 to $26.43 FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Placement based on Education and Experience
