Since 1980, NHIA has proudly served individuals and families throughout Bergen, Monmouth, and Ocean Counties. We are looking for caring, compassionate, dependable, and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in our residential programs! Residential Locations now hiring! As a Direct Support Professional, you will play an essential role in supporting individuals with autism in a residential home setting. This is a rewarding, hands-on position where you will help residents build independence, develop life skills, participate in their communities, and enjoy the highest possible quality of life.
Responsibilities
Providing direct care, supervision, and daily support to individuals with autism Assisting with personal care and daily living activities Supporting medication management Teaching and reinforcing independent living and life skills Providing transportation and assistance with community activities Creating structure, consistency, and meaningful daily routines Encouraging independence and personal growth Maintaining accurate and timely documentation Assisting with the daily operations of the residential home Building positive, respectful relationships with the individuals we serve Every day brings an opportunity to make a difference!

We are seeking individuals who are: Caring, compassionate, and dedicated Dependable and responsible Patient and respectful Willing to learn, grow, and develop professionally Able to exercise sound judgment and tact Comfortable communicating effectively with individuals with autism Able to work collaboratively as part of a professional team Committed to providing the highest quality of care and support No prior autism experience?
That's okay! We provide extensive, hands-on training to help you develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed in this rewarding career. Flexible, in-person interviews are available Monday through Friday at our administrative office in Morganville, NJ. Extensive Paid Training Provided! Your success matters to us.
That's why NHIA provides paid, hybrid & hands-on agency training designed to prepare you to provide exceptional care and support. You'll receive the knowledge, practical skills, and support you need to confidently begin your career with NHIA. Qualifications! To be considered for this position, you must: Have a High School Diploma, GED, or higher degree Diploma or transcripts must be provided.
Be at least 20 years of age Have a valid, non-probationary New Jersey driver's license Successfully complete all required pre-employment screenings, including: Central Registry CARI DMV Fingerprinting Drug screening Physical examination PPD testing Demonstrate the ability to interact appropriately and effectively with individuals with autism Possess strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing Conduct yourself professionally and respectfully at all times What We Offer Full-Time Employees!
