This community volunteering role is all about mateship, company, and being there—helping an older gent feel connected, heard, and part of the community. He’s easy‑going, down to earth, and enjoys the simple things in life. He values good company and a relaxed visit where there’s no pressure—just time spent together and a friendly face.
What he enjoys: Fishing and talking all things outdoors Gardening and pottering around the house Spending time on the computer Kicking back with Netflix Being around animals If you enjoy a laid‑back chat, don’t mind getting your hands a little dirty in the garden, or just want to be a steady presence for someone, this role is a great way to make a real difference—without needing any special skills.
Your impact Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Requirements
18 years or older
- National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by Hammond. Care
- One hour visits for 6 months or longer. We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time Between Monday to Sunday 9am to 5pm for an hour or so visit.
