• Meridian , ID, Salary Range: Undisclosed, JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Commercial Sales Representative REPORTS TO: Director of Sales STATUS: Activate REVISION DATE: 10/7/2026 SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE: Butte Fence is seeking a Commercial Sales Representative to develop and maintain relationships with commercial customers and generate profitable commercial fence sales. This position is responsible for identifying opportunities, reviewing plans and specifications, preparing accurate estimates and proposals, following up on bids, and helping ensure a smooth handoff of sold projects to Operations. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Develop and maintain relationships with general contractors, developers, property managers, and other commercial customers. Review plans, specifications, bid invitations, and jobsite conditions to prepare accurate and timely estimates. Prepare clear and profitable proposals that identify scope, pricing, exclusions, assumptions, and project requirements. Achieve established sales and gross margin goals. Follow up consistently on bids and opportunities and maintain an accurate sales pipeline. Negotiate pricing and scope while protecting company profitability and customer relationships. Maintain strong knowledge of fencing products, installation methods, and commercial project requirements. Clearly communicate customer commitments, scope, and project details to Operations during project handoff. Maintain accurate customer, bid, and follow-up information in company systems. Represent Butte Fence professionally and provide responsive customer service throughout the sales process.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent required. Commercial construction, estimating, or sales experience preferred. Ability to read construction plans, specifications, and bid documents. Strong math, estimating, negotiation, communication, and organizational skills. Self-motivated and able to manage multiple bids, customers, and deadlines.

Fence or related construction industry experience preferred. Comfortable using computers, mobile technology, and estimating/project management systems. PHYSICAL & OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Regular local travel to customer offices and jobsites in varying weather and construction conditions. Ability to walk jobsites, bend, reach, and lift up to 30 pounds.

Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate a vehicle for business purposes.
