Engineering Manager
Job description
The Mission At. Scale is the semantic layer for modern data and AI. We bridge the gap between complex cloud data platforms—like Snowflake, Databricks, and Google Big. Query—and the business users who need consistent, AI-ready analytics. We are looking for an Engineering Manager to help us redefine how the world handles business intelligence.
The Impact You’ll Make In this role, you will: Manage and empower high-visibility, globally distributed engineering teams across North America, Latin America, and Europe. Bring structure, organization, and agile processes to project execution, stepping in as the operational driving force for requirement definition, effort estimation, and progress tracking.
Contribute to architecture, code reviews, and quality standards (CI/CD, automated testing) with a practical, delivery-first mindset. Collaborate directly with Product and architectural leads to coordinate cross-team dependencies and unblock team members. Drive the adoption and standardization of AI tools across the entire software development lifecycle.
Why You’ll Love It Here Ownership & Autonomy: Drive technical execution and team process with true ownership, stepping up to manage delivery and project flow without relying on dedicated Scrum Masters. Innovation-First: Work on high-impact middleware products that optimize performance directly between massive cloud data platforms and business intelligence tools.
Culture of Trust: Enjoy a flexible, remote-friendly environment built on transparency, execution, and professional growth.
Who You Are
You have 8+ years of engineering experience, including 3+ years successfully managing globally distributed teams across multiple time zones. Pragmatic & Technical: Strong background with Scala or Java, REST APIs, and deep SQL/relational database expertise. You value a full-stack, product-shipping mindset over pure theoretical architecture.
Structured & Clear Communicator: Highly organized with exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of bringing structure to complex problem-solving. Quality Champion: Experience setting up best practices for agile execution, code reviews, API testing frameworks, and continuous integration/delivery pipelines.
Time Zone Alignment: Located in or comfortable working with core Eastern Time overlap hours (10 AM – 5 PM ET; EST/CST preferred). Bonus Qualifications: Prior experience in platform/infrastructure engineering, containerization (Kubernetes), customer-managed deployments, or business intelligence tools (Tableau, PowerBI).
The Perks Competitive salary + equity. Unlimited PTO and comprehensive health benefits. The chance to directly shape At. Scale’s growth by building the teams that power our next phase. Ready to build the future of data? Visit www.atscale.com to learn more.
