Stove Technician

STOVE TECHNICIAN Job Summary: The successful candidate will be responsible for installing and maintaining all the kitchen equipment as well other LPG operated equipment on property. He/She is also required to work in conjunction with the Executive Chef and Food & Beverage Manager to address operational concerns related to equipment.

Responsibilities

Performing daily inspections and maintenance of all gas operated equipment as per manufacturer's recommendations. Creating preventative maintenance schedules. Training all operators of kitchen and other gas operated equipment. Installing and replacing all gas operated equipment as instructed. Making recommendations on relevant stock of spare parts for all gas operated equipment.

Diagnosing and solving problems relating to the operation of kitchen equipment, other gas equipment and systems. Performing installations and servicing of typical kitchen equipment and other gas systems. Identifying specific parts and components and suggest relevant replacements. Performing tasks that involve lifting loads with and without assistance.

Performing tasks that require long periods of standing, bending, climbing and working at varying heights.

Qualifications

A minimum of a high school diploma and/or a certificate from a recognised Vocational Training Institution. Basic computer literacy and internet knowledge is preferred. A level of skill and/or technical competence equivalent to at least Level II HEART Trust NTA certification. Knowledgeable in the precautions and best practices related to handling LPG and other flammable gases and liquids.

Working knowledge of different types of kitchen and other gas equipment. The ability to prepare simple reports.
